On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, around 6:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to an emergency call regarding a burglary. As officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he fled, prompting a foot pursuit. During the chase, the suspect opened fire, striking both officers.
It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness we mourn the loss of Police Officer Zane Coolidge, Badge #10914. Despite fighting valiantly since Tuesday’s shooting, the injuries sustained after the cowardly acts of another were just too much for him to overcome.
