Officer Assistance

The Phoenix Police Department and our Community lost two veteran officers the week of May 8th, 2023.   


We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Officer Mark Aker #5884, who passed away from a medical event on-duty on May 10, 2023. Officer Aker joined the department in 1994 and was assigned to the Maryvale Estrella Mountain Precinct.    


We are also deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sergeant Tim Wheeler #8727, who passed away from a medical event at home on May 9, 2023. Sergeant Wheeler joined the department in 2007 and was assigned to the Desert Horizon Precinct.  


Please keep your thoughts and prayers with the officer's families in their time of need. Please consider making a generous donation to assist the families. 100% of your donation will go to the families. You can designate where you would like your donation to go at checkout.
